animal tissue

Animal tissue is the functional unit of an animal organism and is composed of cells, intercellular matrix and extracellular fluid. Animal tissue can be classified into four major types based on their structure and function:

Epithelial Tissue: ni

It forms the outer layer of the body and lines the internal organs. It acts as a barrier, protects the body, and helps regulate the exchange of materials between the body and the environment.

Connective Tissue:

It provides support, protects organs and helps in the transportation of materials within the body. Examples of connective tissue include bone, cartilage, adipose tissue and blood.

Muscle Tissue:

It is responsible for movement and contraction of the body. There are three types of muscle tissue, namely, skeletal, smooth and cardiac.

Nervous Tissue:

It is responsible for transmitting signals and receiving sensory information. It is composed of nerve cells (neurons) and supporting cells (glial cells).

Each type of animal tissue is specialized to perform a specific function and plays a crucial role in maintaining the overall health and functioning of an animal organism
