Letter to your elder brother telling him the reasons of our failure in Public Service Commission Examination

My dear brother,

I am in receipt of your letter. You have asked me the reasons of my failure in the Public Service Commission Examination. I do not like to give any excuses but believe in narrating the facts for my failure as per my understanding.

As you also know, this is not an easy exam. I was fully prepared for all the four papers, but the timetable of my exams was very cumbersome. had to take three papers continuously. The Economics paper was on 12th Jan. from 3 pm to 6 pm and the paper of Statistics-l was scheduled for 13th January from 10 am to 1 pm and after that I had to take the paper of Statistics-Il from 3 pm on the same day itself. This all caused a lot of stress in my mind.

I couldn’t sleep even for a minute on the night of 12th January and so, when I went to the examination hall the next day, I could take the paper of Statistics-I satisfactorily but I could not take the paper of Statistics-II properly and so in this paperI got only 31 marks out of 100 marks which spoiled my percentage. I was well prepared for all the papers, but it was my hard luck or, say, I was unfortunate as the timetable was so disturbing and tedious.

This is the first time when all the students who opted for Economics and Statistics have suffered this much, because of such time scheduling. I am disappointed with the result, but nothing can be done now. I am determined to take this examination again with a much better preparation. I remember your words: “A man who wins, is the man who thinks he can. Convey my regards to Papa and Mummy.

मेरे प्रिय भाई,

 

मुझे आपका पत्र की प्राप्ति हुई। आपने मुझसे लोक सेवा आयोग परीक्षा में मेरी विफलता के कारण पूछे हैं। मैं कोई भी बहाना देना पसंद नहीं करता लेकिन अपनी समझ के अनुसार अपनी विफलता के लिए तथ्यों को बताने में विश्वास करता हूं।

 

जैसा कि आप भी जानते हैं, यह एक आसान परीक्षा नहीं है। मैं सभी चार पेपरों के लिए पूरी तरह से तैयार था, लेकिन मेरी परीक्षाओं की समय सारिणी बहुत बोझिल थी। लगातार तीन पेपर लेने पड़े। इकोनॉमिक्स का पेपर 12 जनवरी को दोपहर 3 बजे से शाम 6 बजे तक था और सांख्यिकी-I का पेपर 13 जनवरी को सुबह 10 बजे से दोपहर 1 बजे तक निर्धारित किया गया था और उसके बाद मुझे उसी दिन 3 बजे से सांख्यिकी-II का पेपर लेना था। यह सब मेरे दिमाग में बहुत तनाव पैदा करता था।

मैं 12 जनवरी की रात को एक मिनट के लिए भी सो नहीं सका और इसलिए, जब मैं अगले दिन परीक्षा हॉल में गया, तो मैं सांख्यिकी- l का पेपर संतोषजनक ढंग से ले सकता था लेकिन मैं सांख्यिकी-ll का पेपर नहीं ले सका और इसलिए इस पेपर में 100 में से केवल 31 अंक मिले, जिससे मेरा प्रतिशत खराब हो गया। मैं सभी पपेरो के लिए अच्छी तरह से तैयार था, लेकिन यह मेरा मुश्किल समय था या यूं कहें कि मैं दुर्भाग्यशाली था क्योंकि समय सारिणी इतनी परेशान करने वाली और थकाऊ थी।

 

यह पहला मौका है जब इस तरह के समय निर्धारण के कारण अर्थशास्त्र और सांख्यिकी में चयन करने वाले सभी छात्रों को नुकसान उठाना पड़ा है। मैं परिणाम से निराश हूं, लेकिन अभी कुछ नहीं किया जा सकता है। मैं इस परीक्षा को फिर से बेहतर तैयारी के साथ करने के लिए दृढ़ संकल्पित हूं। मुझे आपके शब्द याद हैं: “एक आदमी जो जीतता है, वह आदमी है जो सोचता है कि वह कर सकता है। पापा और मम्मी मेरी तरफ से चरण स्पर्श ।
